Mayor's Conference on Climate Control
Charlie Winterwood, Group Chair

Mayor Roy Buol wants Dubuque to sign on to the Mayor's Conference on Climate Control which resolves that Dubuque will meet Kyoto Accord Standards. Dubuque has being a green city as one of its priorities. Mayor Buol along with Des Moines mayor Frank Cownie recently attended a conference on local control of greenhouse gases put on by Robert Redford.

The Sierra Club has a campaign to help municipalities implement the Kyoto Accords called "Cool Cities".

The City of Dubuque is applying for a grant for Sustainable Design from the American Institute of Architects. If awarded, nationally recognized architects will advise Dubuque on plans to make Dubuque more energy efficient.
